Trade House owners Weigh in on New Downtown Patio Price

Downtown industry house owners are weighing in on a brand new coverage referring to patios for the summer time.

In line with industry house owners, town of St. John’s this 12 months is charging companies in the event that they use parking areas to construct patios on. In earlier years, this was once now not the case.

Downtown industry and belongings proprietor Vic Lawlor says for 40 ft of decking for his business tenants, he’s paying $4,500 a month.

He says he had different tenants who had been excited about having a deck or patio, but if they heard of the associated fee, it was once a non-starter. He says that’s 3 or 4 decks town misplaced that will’ve been in position.

In the meantime, proprietor of the Gypsy Tea Room and EVO, Emir Mahic, says the costs are simply the cost you need to pay.
